WWDC: Apple präsentiert neue MacBooks Air und Mac Pro

Wie erwartet hat Apple soeben neue MacBooks Air präsentiert. Dabei gibt es keine Designänderungen, aber im Inneren kommt wie erwartet die neue Haswell-Plattform von Intel zum Einsatz, die für deutliche Verbesserungen bei Akkulaufzeit und Leistung sorgen. Das 11"-Modell soll damit auf neun Stunden, die 13"-Version auf 12 Stunden Akkulaufzeit kommen. Ebenfalls mit an Bord ist 802.11ac WiFi, was bis zu dreimal schnellere Verbindungen ermöglichen soll. Im selben Zuge gibt es auch neue AirPort-Stationen und Time Capsules, die den neuen Standard ebenfalls unterstützen. Preislich beginnen die neuen Geräte für das 11"-Gerät mit 128 GB Speicher bei $ 999,- und das 13"-Modell mit 128 GB bei $ 1.099,-. Die neuen Geräte lassen sich unmittelbar nach der Keynote im Apple Store bestellen.

Ebenfalls neu ist nach langer Wartezeit nun der Mac Pro. Das Gerät ist einigermaßen futuristisch, wie eine Röhre designt und erinnert in keinster Weise mehr an das alte Modell. Im Inneren kommt alles zum Einsatz, was der Technikmarkt derzeit zu bieten hat, unter anderem ein 12-core Intel Xeon 256-Bit Prozessor, ECC Speicher, 1,866MHz DDR3 Speicher, 60 GBps Leistung. Das Warten für alle Profis dürfte sich gelohnt haben. Der neue Mac Pro wird später in diesem Jahr auf den Markt kommen.
