Apple findet offenbar Zulieferer für Periskop-Objektive im iPhone 15

Keine Frage, mit dem iPhone lassen sich hervorragende Fotos schießen, wie auch erst kürzlich wieder im Rahmen der "Shot on iPhone Macro Challenge" belegt wurde. Das große Manko ist und bleibt jedoch der begrenzte optische Zoomfaktor, der vor allem baulich bedingt ist. Während das Objektiv bei einer Kompaktkamera einfach ausgefahren oder bei einer Spiegelreflexkamera einfach auch ausgetauscht werden kann, ist dies bei einem Smartphone nicht möglich. Die Lösung könnten hierbei (zumindest in begrenztem Umfang) Periskopobjektive sein. Bei dieser Technologie werden die Sensoren quasi wie bei einem Periskop "gefaltet", wodurch es möglich wird, trotz einer vergleichsweise kompakten Bauform höhere optische Zoomenfaktoren zu erzielen. Unter anderem verfügt das Huawei P40 Pro+ über ein solches Periskop-Objektiv und erzielt dabei einen 10-fachen optischen Zoomfaktor, während das iPhone 13 Pro aktuell auf eine maximal 3-fache optische Vergrößerung kommt.

Schon länger wird spekuliert, dass Apple ab dem kommenden Jahr ein Periskop-Objektiv im iPhone verbauen könnte, um die Kamera seines Smartphones abermals aufzuwerten. Wie die Kollegen von The Elec nun berichten, scheint man in Cupertino hierfür nun auch den Zulieferer für entsprechende Bauteile gefunden zu haben. Hierbei soll es sich um das südkoreanische Unternehmen Jahwa Electronics handeln, welches bereits entsprechende Kapazitäten für Apple aufbauen soll. Ein höherer optischer Zoom wäre damit spätestens für das iPhone 15 zu erwarten.
