Apple bejubelt den Erfolg seiner Dienstsparte in neuer Pressemitteilung

In einer neuen Pressemitteilung hat Apple auf den starken Ausbau seiner Dienstsparte im vergangenen Jahr aufmerksam gemacht. Hierzu zählen der AppStore, Apple Music, Apple Karten, Apple Pay, Apple News, Apple Podcasts, Apple Fitness+, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade und mehr. Die Dienste haben nach Apples Aussage vor allem während der Pandemie eine wichtige Bedeutung für die Nutzer, da sie sich verstärkt in den eigenen vier Wänden befinden und dort nach Unterhaltung, Bildung, Sport und weiteren Dingen suchen. Apples Dienste-Chef Eddy Cur wird hierzu mit den folgenden Worten zitiert:

"Apple’s world-class portfolio of services proved essential in 2021, as people worldwide sought new ways to keep entertained, informed, connected, and inspired. With over 745 million paid subscriptions, Apple continues to connect the world’s developers, artists, and storytellers with users across more than a billion devices, delivering powerful tools, content, and experiences that enrich their lives in profound ways every day."

Aus der Pressemitteilung gehen unter anderem die folgenden Zahlen und Informationen hervor:

  • Entwickler haben seit dem Start des AppStore im Jahr 2008 inzwischen über 260 Milliarden US-Dollar verdient. Im vergangenen Jahr wurde dabei ein neuer Rekord mit alleine 60 Milliarden Dollar aufgestellt.
  • Speziell "zwischen den Jahren" haben die Nutzer im AppStore für mehr Umsatz im AppStore gesorgt als jemals zuvor.
  • Nutzer haben im vergangenen Jahr über 30 Millionen digitale Tickets aus der Wallet-App für Veranstaltungen in den USA und Kanada genutzt.
  • Inhalte auf Apple TV+ heimsten seit dem Start des Dienstes 763 Nominierungen für Auszeichnungen ein und konnte 190 davon gewinnen.

Zudem weist Apple auch auf ein paar anstehende Neuerungen hin:

  • Die schon länger in Vorbereitung befindliche App speziell für klassische Musik auf Apple Music, die aus der Übernahme von Primephonic im vergangenen Jahr hervorgehen wird, soll im Laufe des Jahres erscheinen.
  • 3D-Inhalte in Apples Karten-App werden später im Jahr auch in den kanadischen Metropolen Montréal, Toronto und Vancouver verfügbar sein.
  • In den USA wird es Nutzern von iPhone und Apple Watch später im Jahr möglich sein, ihre Ausweise und Führerscheine in der Wallet-App zu hinterlegen. Hierbei handelt es sich um eine der großen neuen Funktionen von iOS 15, die Apple im vergangenen Jahr angekündigt hatte.

Nur die Differenz zwischen Ankündigung und Veröffentlichung stört mich. Bin gespannt, ob die Führerschein-Funktion (US only) vor oder nach der WWDC fehlerfrei verfügbar sein wird.

Die offizielle Ankündigung der AirPower Ladematte war auch nicht durchgebratener.

Und wenn wir auf die Betriebssysteme blicken, dann wurden die Funktionen für Herbst 2021 versprochen. Halbroh im September veröffentlicht und Teile davon - wie bei Gerüchten - immer weiter nach hinten verschoben. Aktuell gibt es Munkelei zur WWDC, aber kein vollständiges iOS15.

Sorry, ich sehe leider keinen gravierenden Unterschied zwischen Gerücht und offizieller Aussage.
