Apple veröffentlicht neue Betas von iOS/iPadOS 15.2, watchOS 8.3 und tvOS 15.2

Frei nach dem Motto nach dem Update ist vor dem Update, läuft inzwischen schon wieder die nächste Betaphase für Apples Betriebssysteme. Zwei Wochen nach der Veröffentlichung der letzten Vorabversionen von iOS/iPadOS 15.2, watchOS 8.3 und tvOS 15.2 können ab sofort die jeweils vierten Betas von allen registrierten Entwicklern geladen werden. Die zugehörige Beta von macOS Monterey 12.1 hatte Apple bereits am gestrigen Abend veröffentlicht. Ein wenig unklar ist nach wie vor, warum Apple watchOS 8.2 ausgelassen hat und direkt auf Version 8.3 springt aber vermutlich wird es dafür Gründe geben.

Bereits bekannt ist, dass iOS 15.2 den bereits für iOS 15 angekündigten App-Datenschutzbericht nachreichen wird. Aus diesem ist künftig ersichtlich, wie oft auf sensible Funktionen wie die Kamera, das Mikrofon oder den Standort aber auch auf Informationen wie Fotos, Kontakte, etc. innerhalb der letzten sieben Tage zugegriffen haben. Zudem wird auch aufgezeichnet, welche Apps im Hintergrund irgendwelche Server im Internet ansteuern, so dass man im Zeifel auch hier korrigierend eingreifen kann. Hinzu gesellen sich diverse kleinere kosmetische und funktionelle Anpassungen im gesamten System, unter anderem auch die Möglichkeit, nun einen Nachlasskontakt für iCloud-Daten zu konfigurieren.

Darüber hinaus aktiviert Apple in den neuen Betas nun erstmals auch die "Communications Safety" Funktion, einem Teil der neuen Kinderschutzfunktionen, für die Apple in den vergangenen Monaten eine Menge Kritik einstecken musste. Es handelt sich dabei wohlgemerkt nicht um die ebenfalls geplanten Kinderpornoscans von Nutzer-Mediatheken, sondern um Hinweise für den Fall, dass über die Nachrichten-App mutmaßlich anzügliche Texte und Bilder verschickt und empfangen werden. Zudem werden auch die kommenden Updates wieder verschiedene Fehler korrigieren und die Sicherheit und Stabilität der Systeme verbessern.

Auch Teilnehmer am Public Beta Programm dürften in Kürze Zugriff auf die neuen Betas erhalten. Ein finales Veröffentlichungsdatum für die kommenden Versionen der Betriebssysteme ist aktuell noch nicht bekannt.
