Apple hat inzwischen den kompletten Steuerbetrag von 13,1 Milliarden Euro an Irland nachgezahlt

Vor einigen Monaten bereits hatte die EU beschlossen, dass Apple einen Milliardenbetrag an Steuern an Irland nachzahlen müsse, da man dies in der Vergangenheit nicht im nötigen Maße getan habe. Die Entscheidung hatte zu verschiedenen Spannungen, vor allem zwischen Irland, wo man das Geld eigentlich gar nicht haben wollte, und der EU geführt. Inzwischen hat die irische Regierung bekanntgegeben, dass Apple die komplette Summe von 13,1 Milliarden Euro bezahlt habe. Das Geld befindet sich vorerst auf einem Treuhandkonto, wo es auch verbleiben wird, bis eine Entscheidung über die Einsprüche von Apple und Irland gegen die Zahlung entschieden wurde. Es kann also auch nach wie vor sein, dass die irische Steuerpraxis noch als zulässig angesehen wird, in welchem Fall Apple das Geld zurückgezahlt werden müsse. Bis zu dieser Entscheidung dürften allerdings mehrere Jahre ins Land ziehen. (via Reuters)
