Doch AirPlay 2? AirPort Express kehrt in erster Beta von iOS 12 in die Home-App zurück

Bereits vor einigen Wochen keimte leise Hoffnung auf, dass Apple seiner AirPort Express doch noch ein Update spendieren könnte, welches die kleine WLAN-Box kompatibel mit AirPlay 2 macht. Seinerzeit tauchte die Express in einer Beta von iOS 11.4 plötzlich in der Home-App auf, wurde in der finalen Version aber wieder entfernt. In der ersten Beta von iOS 12 kehrt die inzwischen eingestellte AirPort Express jedoch wieder in die Home-App zurück, wie unter anderem auch die Kollegen von AppleInsider bestätigen. Eine Funktionalität ist mit der Sichtung aber nicht verbunden.

Das letzte Update erhielt die AirPort Express 2017, als Apple die KRACK-Sicherheitslücke schloss. Allzuviel Hoffnung würde ich persönlich mit der erneuten Sichtung allerdings nicht verbinden. Zu instabil ist die aktuelle Integration und zu wenig Interesse hat Apple offenbar an der Weiterentwicklung der bei den Nutzern durchaus beliebten AirPort-Produkten. Ich lasse mich aber gerne überraschen.

Das glaub ich nicht, vermutlich ist die Basis die gleiche mit der die Beta\u2018s entwickelt wird, wenn die durch Apple nicht gesperrt werden sind die halt mit drin, aber die verschwinden wieder, da bin ich mir ziemlich sicher.
