Kurz vor Apples Bildungs-Event: Acer stellt Chrome OS Tablet für Schulen vor

Am heutigen Abend findet bekanntermaßen ein Apple-Event zum Thema Bildung statt. Bevor sich der iPad-Hersteller hier aber wohl vermutlich auch zu einer neuen Niedrigpreis-Strategie für den Bildungsmarkt äußern wird, grätscht ihm einer der Konkurrenten in die Parade. So hat Google gemeinsam mit Acer das erste Chrome OS Tablet vorgestellt. Das Acer Chromebook Tab 10 ist somit das erste Tablet, welches unter Googles Chrome OS Betriebssystem läuft. Ähnlich wie es Apple offensichtlich mit dem iPad plant, soll das Acer Chromebook Tab 10 ein ideales, leichtgewichtiges Gerät für den Einsatz in Schulen mit Touch- und Stylus-Funktionalitäten sein. Es verfügt über ein 9,7" großes und mit 2.048 x 1.536 Pixeln auflösendes Display, einen 6-Kern 3399 RockChip Prozessor, 4 GB Arbeitsspeicher, 32 GB Speicherkapazität, eine 2 Megapixel HD-Webcam auf der Vorder- und eine 5 Megapixel Kamera auf der Rückseite. Der Akku soll 9 Stunden lang durchhalten, ehe er über seinen USB-C Anschluss wieder geladen werden muss.

Im Lieferumfang des Chromebook Tablet befindet sich jeweils ein passiver Chromebook Wacom EMR Stylus, der weder geladen oder mit dem Gerät verbunden werden muss. Dank Maschinenlernen soll er ein "natürliches Schreiben" ohne Verzögerungen ermöglichen. Das Acer Chromebook Tab 10 geht ab April für 329,- US-Dollar über den Ladentisch. Ein Preis, von dem erwartet wird, dass Apple ihn heute Abend unterbieten wird.
