Stadtgalerie in Hameln - Der Starbucks-Frust

Heute war es nun also soweit, in Hameln hat mit viel TamTam das ECE-Center namens Stadtgalerie eröffnet. Mit anderen Worten, ein Einkaufszentrum. Das ist ja heutzutage an und für sich erstmal nichts außergewöhnliches. Nun, für Hameln schon. Ansonsten sucht man sowas in der näheren Umgebung nämlich derzeit weit und breit vergebens. Ein echter Publikumsmagnet also, mit einem Einzugsgebiet bis nach Hannover, Minden und Göttingen. Okay, im Herbst eröffnet zudem die Ernst-August-Galerie in Hannover und geplant ist außerdem ein Einkaufszentrum in Rinteln. Aber damit bleibt dann ja immernoch ein Einzugsgebiet bis nach Hess. Oldendorf und Bad Münder...

Meine ganze Hoffnung ruhte prinzipiell auf zwei Unternehmen, die eine strategische Partnerschaft mit dem Projektunternehmen ECE haben: Starbucks und Gravis. Beide Unternehmen, und das war schon vor der Eröffnung klar, würden nicht nach Hameln kommen. Damn! Nun gut, ich habe mir den Spaß dann trotzdem gestern mal angesehen. An und für sich eine gute und gelungene Sache. Das Problem für mich ist aber das Angebot an Geschäften. Die sind sicherlich alle gut und haben auch ihre Daseinsberechtigung. Aber sie gehen eben allesamt auch nicht über das hinaus, was Hameln ohnehin schon hat. Das angesprochene Klientel hat sich durch die Stadtgalerie also nicht im geringsten verändert. Das Angebot orientiert sich am bisherigen Hamelner Publikum und zieht keine neuen, zusätzlichen Leute an. Was fehlt, ist ein richtiger Kracher, etwas, was man eben nicht überall sonst auch findet. Starbucks hat in Niedersachsen ganze 2 Niederlassungen (Osnabrück und Braunschweig), da wäre es doch gerade sinnvoll gewesen, sich durch ein solches Geschäft hervor zu tun. Stattdessen haben wir nun die Coffeeshop Company. Klar, die haben auch ein grünes Logo und machen auch Kaffee, der sicher nicht schlechter ist als der bei Starbucks. Aber irgendwie fehlt da doch ein wenig der Style-Faktor, der aber eben auch Hameln als Stadt fehlt. Von daher passt das also schon wieder. Nur um Misverständnissen vorzubeugen, ich mag Hameln und wohne gerne hier. Aber es geht eben leider irgendwie nicht wirklich voran...

Nichts desto Trotz finde ich es gut das wir nun die Stadtgalerie haben. Ein paar Geschäft treffen tatsächlich auch meinen ausgefallenen Geschmack und werden in Zukunft sicherlich erster Anlaufpunkt für mich sein, wenn ich mal neue Klamotten brauche. Schließlich ist es dann doch irgendwie praktisch, alles unter einem Dach zu haben. Aber dreimal die Woche muss ich da nun auch nicht hinlaufen. Spannend wird sicher die Frage, wie der Laden läuft, wenn die Konkurrenz in Rinteln und Hannover irgendwann da ist... Die Idee und die Umsetzung sind sicherlich gut, man hätte es aber auch, wie eigentlich immer, besser machen können. Gelungen ist auf jeden Fall die Architektur und Gestaltung der Stadtgalerie. Da wirkt alles sehr hell und freundlich. Und wenn sich die Besucherzahlen erst einmal normalisiert haben, kann man sich sicherlich auch mal schön in eines der zahlreichen Cafes setzen.

Lange musste niedersachsens Landeshauptstadt warten, nun ist es wohl endlich soweit. Heimlich habe ich ja schon länger damit gerechnet, dass Hannover spätestens mit der Eröffnung der Ernst-August-Galerie am 15. Oktober seine Starbucks-Filiale bekommt. N
